Drawings for this quilt were of isolated, starkly beautiful landscapes that I saw whilst travelling in outback Queensland. The panorama, littered with giant termite mounds was decorated with golden blossoming trees that were totally foreign to me. [ Cochlospermum Gregorii ] To capture the dramatic colours, I dyed and overdyed fabrics and hand coloured embroidery threads, then block printed termites around border panels after assembling.
