Kokeshi Dollhouse

Designs by the artist, based on traditional wooden Kokeshi dolls from her collection as well as some original contemporary Kokeshi dolls designed by Julie. Whilst the Japanese tradition does not include this ‘European dolls house format’, Julie chose this layout to best showcase these Beautiful Kokeshi dolls; set in a Japanese house and garden.
Fabrics are predominantly silks; fabrics collected from antique Kimonos.
Silk, satins, crepe, wool crepe.
Hand appliquéd; hand and machine pieced.
