Kokeshi Playtime

Designs by the artist, based on traditional wooden Kokeshi dolls from her collection as well as some original contemporary Kokeshi dolls designed by Julie. Traditional Japanese toys and cherry blossums are included in this design. Japanese font translates as "Wooden Dolls".
Fabrics are predominantly silks; fabrics collected from antique Kimonos.
Silk, satins, crepe, wool crepe.
Hand appliquéd; hand and machine pieced.
