Stained glass applique technique
In interpreting the theme “ Keep the World Sewing ” I decided to illustrate my passion for sewing, which is quilting. I depicted a still life in my studio of my Amish style quilt that was in the process of being hand quilted. The Amish quilt I made to hand stitch in the car as we travelled around Australia. As an addicted stitcher, I enjoyed many hours in the car travelling with my quilts. The ‘Quilt in my studio ’ is for me a ‘snapshot’ into the world of textiles, colour and sewing that I so much love.
This quilt toured in Husqvarna's “ Keep the world Sewing ” Europe exhibition [2001-2002] and was selected for promotion of Husqvarnas Exhibition, Europe 2003.
