Hand dyed & printed fabric: machine pieced and quilted
Stained glass applique technique

The opalescent colours of Tiffany’s Favrile glass inspired me to explore dyeing and block printing fabrics that reflect the vitality and lusciousness of the world around me. I used flowers and colour to symbolise the suffragette movement. Loyalty; purple-crocus, Faith; green - Iris, Purity; white - lilies. The partially opened curtain represents women’s’ incomplete journey of enlightenment and liberation. Sit on my grandmothers chair, read the “picture” and ponder your view.
