Dye Some More... for Repeat Offenders 2 Day Workshop

 

MAXIMUM 12 students

This two day class is designed especially for quilters who have [preferably] dyed before. It is an opportunity to add to your hand dyed fabric stash, dyeing [using direct technique] large or small pieces as well as making your own fabrics for specific projects or for particular quilts.

 

Day 1

Various dye mixing, painting and fabric colouring techniques will include dyeing landscapes and seascapes, aspects of nature like water, sky, flowers, leaves, stripes, spots, rainbows, colourwash palettes, mottled and modified pastel and muted colour runs and dyeing a colour wheel palette

Day 2

Dyeing for individual projects, large and small.
Repeat offenders learn to control the mixing and recording of dye colours, keeping swatches with recipes for future reference. [Start collecting margarine, yoghurt and ice cream containers]

 

Materials fee approx. $35, depending on how many metres of fabric you wish to dye.
